JAZZ at the Depot, sponsored by Krenzen, brings the sounds of live jazz to the historic Lake Superior Railroad Museum inside the St. Louis County Depot in downtown Duluth. Every Saturday afternoon throughout the winter season, continuing through April, enjoy live music from the former Club Saratoga Jazz Quartet, performing trackside among the museum’s historic locomotives and railcars.
From the swinging big-band sounds of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Glenn Miller to the timeless tunes of Benny Goodman, Thelonious Monk and other jazz greats, there’s something for longtime jazz fans and casual listeners alike. Led by Randy Lee, the quartet delivers an afternoon of classic favorites, modern jazz and entertaining musical commentary. Make an afternoon of it!
Admission is just $7 per person , including the cash bar. Warm up with complimentary coffee and hot cocoa, or grab something tasty from the concession stand, featuring gourmet hot dogs, snacks and freshly popped popcorn. Whether you’re in the mood for a cocktail, a bowl of chili or just a relaxing afternoon of great music, the Depot has you covered.
When Club Saratoga discontinued its popular Saturday jazz shows several years ago, the Lake Superior Railroad Museum stepped in to keep the tradition alive. After a pandemic-related pause, JAZZ at the Depot is back and ready to fill the museum with music once again. So bring a friend, grab a seat among the trains and settle in for an afternoon of toe-tapping tunes, good company and railroad atmosphere.
You don’t have to know your bebop from your big band to enjoy it, just come ready to relax and enjoy the show! JAZZ at the Depot When: Every Saturday starting in January, 3–6 p.m., through April Where: Lake Superior Railroad Museum, St. Louis County Depot, downtown Duluth Admission: $7 per person
